What We Believe

We believe in one God, who is sovereign, eternal, and supreme. He is one, yet manifests Himself in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4; I Corinthians 8:6; I Timothy 1:17; I John 5:7

We believe that Jesus Christ is the second Person of the Trinity and is God manifested in human form. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and whose purpose was to die on the cross as the substitutionary sacrifice for manís sin. Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-15; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 1:15

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and is fully God. He is a Person, whose ministry is to regenerate, sanctify, seal and fill all who have personally accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. The filling of the Holy Spirit is evidenced by the fruits of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23. Genesis 1:2; John 3:5-6; Acts 1:5; Acts 5:1-11; Romans 8:16; I Corinthians 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30

We believe the Bible is inerrant, infallible, and inspired by God. It is Godís revealed will for our lives and is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. II Timothy 3:15-17; I Peter 1:23-25; II Peter 1:19-21

We believe that every person is a sinner as a result from our sin nature received from our common ancestor, Adam. Because of our sin, we will face not only physical death, but also spiritual death (eternal separation from God). Man is therefore in and of himself without hope in need of a Savior (Jesus Christ). Genesis 1-3; Romans 5:12-21

We believe salvation is a free gift from God and is available to anyone who will put his or her faith and trust in Jesus Christ as the only way to heaven. Every person is a sinner and the consequence for our sin is hell, but God, through His love and grace, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die upon the cross to provide redemption for mankind. When one comes to realize that there is no salvation outside of Christ, and personally accepts what He (Christ) did for him on the cross, one receives salvation. Romans 6:23; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:8; II Corinthians 5:21; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-10

We believe that once a person has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, that they are kept by Godís power and cannot lose their salvation. This is not a license to sin, but a manifestation of Godís glorious grace to those who have trusted in Christ. John 3:15-16; John 10:27-30; Romans 6:1-2; Ephesians 4:30; Jude 24

We believe that baptism is an act of obedience after a person has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and does not play a part in a personís salvation. We believe baptism is by immersion. Baptism is a believerís identification with Christís death, burial, and resurrection. Romans 6:3-4; Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 8:26-40

We believe the local church is comprised of those who have placed their faith and trust in Jesus Christ and who have been baptized by immersion. The local church is Godís institution to carry out His work and is essential in the spiritual growth of a believer. The church serves the purpose of edification, teaching, worship and evangelism. We adhere to traditional baptistic theology, and therefore are a Baptist church. Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-43; I Corinthians 15:51-58; Ephesians 5:25-30 Hebrews 10:24-25
